Anne Guthmiller has taught on the voice faculty at the University of Richmond since 1997 and at Virginia Commonwealth University since coming to Richmond in 1988.
A North Carolina native, she received her undergraduate degree in vocal performance from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and her graduate degree in vocal performance from Florida State University. Previous career appointments have been at the University of Virginia, University of Central Arkansas, University of the Ozarks, and Auburn University. She has been featured in various master classes, art song symposia, and Bach festivals in Colorado, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Virginia. A lover of German and French art songs as well as oratorios, she has also made a foray into musical theatre, most recently recording songs from America’s Big Band Era.
