Lee Donlon

Manager, Adventure and Leadership

Lee Donlon received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. While attending VCU, Lee worked for the Outdoor Adventure Program as a Senior Trip Leader. It was at VCU that Lee first got his Wilderness First Responder Certification, underwent the OAP’s SOLE trip leader training program, and became ACA Level 4 certified to teach whitewater kayaking. After completing his undergrad, Lee fulfilled a life-long dream to live and work, immersed in the mountains. He moved to Montana where, in the shadow of Lone Peak, he worked in the Terrain Parks and took the BSAFE Avalanche 1 course. Upon returning to Richmond, Lee worked at RVA Paddlesports as a whitewater kayaking instructor and with University of Richmond as a Trip Facilitator.

In his current position, Lee is responsible for coordinating the development and administration of the Outdoor Adventure and Recreation (OAR) program, including the Green Bike Program, Odyssey Challenge course, outdoor adventure trips, and equipment rentals. Lee is also responsible for teambuilding and leadership development of the Health and Wellbeing staff.

Outside of UR, you can find Lee on the James kayaking, biking around Richmond, or in his back-yard building contraptions for the next adventure.
